Speech and Drama Section

This section provides opportunities at all levels for those interested both in speaking (either verse or prose) and in acting. There are classes for solo recitations, sight reading and dramatic monologues as well as group performances. Individuals and groups, including school groups, are warmly welcomed, and we will do our best to accommodate whatever you would like to present. Please contact us if you have any particular ideas you want put forward.

This venue for this section is the The Bull Theatre, 68 High Street, Barnet .

Prizes and Certificates

There are Cups and Shields to be competed for the solo and group classes, as well as book tokens for the highest marked competitors. In addition there are gold, silver and bronze medals to be won and each competitor of group will receive a written adjudication sheet and a certificate of participation. The Drama Versatility Cup will be presented to the most outstanding performer between 13 and 18 years of age who has entered 3 or more classes, and a Junior Cup to the best all rounder of 12 years or under.
