Emanuel Trophy Piano Competition

This is the Festival's top competition and is one of the most prestigious competitions within the festival movement, It was established in 1985 and is named after Emanuel Cedar (1916-2000) who entered the North London Music Festival piano competitions as a young pianist, became a Festival Council Member in 1960 and Festival Chairman in 1975.

The 2012 competition is open to the winner of the top senior piano award at any Music Festival held between 1 January and 31 December 2011. If the top prize-winner has already been entered to represent another Festival then the Secretary should, if possible, enter the next best pianist.

First Prize - £300 cash, a Challenge Trophy and the opportunity to give a recital in a central London venue.

Second Prize - £100 cash.

The Competition will be held on Saturday 21 April 2012 at the United Reformed Church in Muswell Hill.
