Emanuel Trophy Piano Competition

This is the Festival's top competition and is one of the most prestigious competitions within the festival movement, It was established in 1985 and is named after Emanuel Cedar (1916-2000) who entered the North London Music Festival piano competitions as a young pianist, became a Festival Council Member in 1960 and Festival Chairman in 1975.

The 2008 Competition is open to the winner of the senior piano award at any Music Festival affiliated to the British & International Federation of Festivals between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2007. In 2007 there were 27 representatives from Festivals around the country.

First Prize - £300 cash, a Challenge Trophy and the opportunity to give a recital in a central London venue.

Second Prize - £100 cash.

The Competition will be held on Saturday 26 April 2008 at the United Reformed Church in Muswell Hill.
